Who we are?

hia Motor PJ was set up in 1967 by Eddie Chia to sell and repair motorcycles, Eddie also races Ducati and Suzuki in Grand Prix in the sixties and seventies. In 1997 Keith Chia, took part in Kawasaki Ninja KIPS 150cc one-make race and took 6th place overall. That early success let the formation of Chia Motor Racing as Keith decided to follow his father’s racing footsteps. Keith had the honour of being one of the the riders, on an Aprilia RS250, to ride in the final race in Batu Tiga Track before it was closed down for development.

As Eddie’s motorcycle business took up more and more of his time, Keith had no choice but to concentrate on the family business. By 2004, the roar of racing was calling Keith back to the tracks and Keith decided it was time to return back to racing. This time, at Sepang International Circuit (SIC) in the Malaysian Super Series. Keith came in 3rd overall in Supersports B. Not too shabby for someone who had taken five years off from racing.

The Following year, Keith took part in the Asia Road Racing Championship national race as a wildcard entry in the 600cc category, coming in 2nd and winning a spot on the podium. 2006 was another successful year for Keith as he took overall 2nd place in the 250cc Aprilia Cup, but 2007 was his crowning moment as he took home the Aprilia Cup as overall champion. It was a great year for the Chia Motor Racing Team, as Nils Uchida took the overall Supersports B title too.

The team’s combine racing experience along with Keith guidance and management, made 2013 a year to remember as Nails Uchida was crowned Superbike B overall champion. Steve Evans in Supersports A took second overall, and bagged the Ninja 250 Open Champion. No resting for Keith as he prepares for 2014 and more success, for him and his team at Chia Motor Racing
